Step 1

Grind your coffee to resemble table salt. If you have purchased ground coffee, then this job has already been done!

Pre-rinse your coffee filter with just-off-the-boil water.

Use a ratio of 15g per 200mls of water. If you don’t have scales this is roughly 2 tablespoons per cup of water.

Step 4

Slowly pour enough water just-off-the-boil and saturate the coffee then let it bloom for 30 seconds. This is where the magic happens.

Step 5

Over the next 2-2.5 minutes slowly pour 200mls (just shy of a cup) of water over the coffee. Let all the water brew out and enjoy!

Espresso

Step 1

Grind the coffee to resemble fine sand.

Step 2

Use freshly filtered water in your machine.

Step 3

Add 21 grams of coffee to your filter basket and tap gently (home espresso machines don’t respond well to tightly packed coffee)

Press your manual brew button and brew for 22- 25 seconds. You should have roughly 30- 40 mls of coffee extracted.

Step 5

If you have less, make your coffee coarser.  Top with milk and enjoy!

V60

Step 1

Put filter paper into your V60, and rinse the paper with hot water, then discard the water

Step 2

Grind 16g of coffee (Medium Course Grind) and place it in the filter. Distribute the coffee evenly to make a flat coffee bed

Step 3

Gently pour in 50g of water (just off the boil) in a circular motion from the edge inwards

Let the coffee sit for 30 seconds (this is called the bloom!)

Step 5

Pour another 200ml of water in the same motion until done. Pour and enjoy! 

MOCCAMASTER

Step 1

Put the filter paper in the basket and rinse with hot water.

Step 2

Grind 70g of coffee (Course Grind). Fill tank with 1 litre of room-temperature or cold water

Set the filter basket to closed, move the switch on the side of the basket to the setting marked X

Step 4

Start the brewer, turn on the switch and make sure the carafe is pressed against the brewing chamber.

Step 5

Set the filter basket to open, Move the switch on the basket to the setting marked O, which will allow coffee to pour out into the carafe. Enjoy!

AEROPRESS

Step 1

Put the paper filter into the base and rinse well.

Step 2

Put the Aeropress together on top of your cup

Step 3

 Grind 18g of coffee (Medium Course Grind) and place in the Aeropress.

Step 4

Pour 220ml of hot water into the Aeropress. Stir to agitate and put on the top of the Aeropress.

Step 5

Wait two minutes and then press until you hear air hiss. Enjoy!
