Filter
Step 1
Grind your coffee to resemble table salt. If you have purchased ground coffee, then this job has already been done!
Step 2
Pre-rinse your coffee filter with just-off-the-boil water.
Step 3
Use a ratio of 15g per 200mls of water. If you don’t have scales this is roughly 2 tablespoons per cup of water.
Step 4
Slowly pour enough water just-off-the-boil and saturate the coffee then let it bloom for 30 seconds. This is where the magic happens.
Step 5
Over the next 2-2.5 minutes slowly pour 200mls (just shy of a cup) of water over the coffee. Let all the water brew out and enjoy!
Espresso
Step 1
Grind the coffee to resemble fine sand.
Step 2
Use freshly filtered water in your machine.
Step 3
Add 21 grams of coffee to your filter basket and tap gently (home espresso machines don’t respond well to tightly packed coffee)
Step 4
Press your manual brew button and brew for 22- 25 seconds. You should have roughly 30- 40 mls of coffee extracted.
Step 5
If you have less, make your coffee coarser. Top with milk and enjoy!
V60
Step 1
Put filter paper into your V60, and rinse the paper with hot water, then discard the water
Step 2
Grind 16g of coffee (Medium Course Grind) and place it in the filter. Distribute the coffee evenly to make a flat coffee bed
Step 3
Gently pour in 50g of water (just off the boil) in a circular motion from the edge inwards
Step 4
Let the coffee sit for 30 seconds (this is called the bloom!)
Step 5
Pour another 200ml of water in the same motion until done. Pour and enjoy!
MOCCAMASTER
Step 1
Put the filter paper in the basket and rinse with hot water.
Step 2
Grind 70g of coffee (Course Grind). Fill tank with 1 litre of room-temperature or cold water
Step 3
Set the filter basket to closed, move the switch on the side of the basket to the setting marked X
Step 4
Start the brewer, turn on the switch and make sure the carafe is pressed against the brewing chamber.
Step 5
Set the filter basket to open, Move the switch on the basket to the setting marked O, which will allow coffee to pour out into the carafe. Enjoy!
AEROPRESS
Step 1
Put the paper filter into the base and rinse well.
Step 2
Put the Aeropress together on top of your cup
Step 3
Grind 18g of coffee (Medium Course Grind) and place in the Aeropress.
Step 4
Pour 220ml of hot water into the Aeropress. Stir to agitate and put on the top of the Aeropress.
Step 5
Wait two minutes and then press until you hear air hiss. Enjoy!
